Duration: 6 months

Many companies today are facing threats from internal and external hackers. There are companies who have suffered losses amounting to crores of rupees due to malicious attacks upon their systems. This course provides an insight into the technical and legal aspects of E-Security in the commercial world. Participants shall also be trained to protect their systems from such breaches of security. They shall be informed of the highly technical software/methods available to make their systems safe.

General Information:
Participants can choose to receive the course material in printed form, in CD ROMs or online.

All participants can avail of guidance from our team of experts. Participants can email their queries to our helpdesk. All participants will be assigned a counsellor who will guide them through the course. In addition, the participants will be interacting freely with their fellow batchmates, corporate gurus and their own counsellors in a series of 'net meetings' scheduled during the period of the course (Participants will be informed in advance about these 'meetings').

The course contents are as under:

  1. Basic concepts
  2. Cyber crimes
  3. SSL, SET and S/MIME
  4. Firewalls and Proxy
  5. VPN
  6. Cryptography and Digital Signatures
  7. Security Policy
  8. Legal issues

Participants shall be required to complete eight online assessment exam of half hour duration each. Participants shall also be required to submit a research project (of minimum 3000 words) on any topic related to Information Technology Law. Participants are required to get the topic pre-approved by their counsellor. After the submission of this project, participants shall, as part of their final assessment, have a session wherein a panel of experts shall ask them questions about their project. This session shall be held online and shall have a duration of up to 30 minutes.

Grades will be awarded as follows:

Marks obtained

80% and above


between 70% and 79%          


between 60% and 69%


between 50% and 59%


below 50%



Successful candidates shall be awarded a certificate by Asian School of Cyber Laws.
