Recently, a fake video of actor Ranveer Singh talking about a political party went viral. The same thing happened to Amir Khan just weeks ago.

With elections around the corner, an interesting question arises - how do deepfakes impact elections?

1. Videos of celebrities endorsing or criticising parties can change how the public views them.

2. Voters may start suspecting all news to be fake. They won’t trust anything, so they might miss important facts.

3. Deepfakes can be used to ridicule or defame politicians.

4. Politicians may claim that authentic videos are deepfakes, reducing accountability.

5. The constant spread of fake news might cause voters to lose faith in the electoral system completely.
